So What’s the Story About? You ask – for Novel 3 by M.L.Kilian

Without giving too much away, I want to share with you a little bit about the story for my third novel:

WHAT IF is a story that came to me through my own personal struggles, disappointments, and ultimate growth to where I am today. Although not an autobiography, WHAT IF is surely a story that anyone can relate to. If you live a lifestyle different than the one, you imagined for yourself. It is a story about two people from across the globe, without knowing, are connected in so many ways, on a deep level. It is the story about choices that we make, and the struggles we face because of them. Until finally we end up where we wanted to be all along. Only to discover that place was merely a step to bringing you closer to where you should have always been…

And so the story unfolds…on April 16, 2016.

Pre-order a copy and pay only USD9.00 for paperback, and USD5.00 for e-book. Offer expires April 15, 2016 at midnight. Books and e-books will be delivered week of April 16, 2016.

A Holiday Film and a Paperback Giveaway

Each night for the past month or so I’ve watched at least 2 holiday films on Hallmark and other channels. I figured I wanted to see how the film industry sees the holidays or wants to relay them so. Some of the movies are based on novels, while others are made for television films.

Last night in particular I watched Twelve Trees of Christmas, a 2013 film about a librarian determined to stop investors from demolishing the iconic library she works for. Hoping that if she were to have a tree decorating contest in the library, she would win the hearts of the family members who own the building, and were willing to sell it for a high-rise condo buildout.

There were too many lines to list here from the film, which got me thinking about the importance of libraries and bookstores. And yes I do understand evolution and e-this and e-that. But some things I wish we can keep traditional. I mean after all, what more do we have except family, beliefs and a good old-fashioned bound book to read tucked under a blanket in front of a fire.

Inspired by the story, also being overly sentimental these holiday times, I want to do my part in spreading the joy of paperback novels. Until December 31st, you have the chance to win a copy – one of five –  of Piazza Navona – part one of a two-part novel.  All you have to do is follow me here or twitter and complete the below entry form. Winners will be selected at random on January 1, 2016 and announced right here. Copies of the novel will be shipped out January 6th.

Paris It Is..For a Novel Giveaway

Made it to Paris, after a long train ride from Cannes, and when I say long, I mean long. The train broke down in Avignon making the five-hour journey into an eight-hour one.  But it was fine. I spent the extra hours working on novel 3, and outlining novel 4, which came to mind while I was walking about the promenade in St. Tropez.

I am now in Paris, and after getting a good night sleep, ready to tackle this fascinating city, walking through the back roads, pondering, creating stories in my head.

I will be in the following bookstores in the next coming days, and if you happen to be in town, by all means, drop me a line and we can meet and have a chat and I will send you a free copy of my first novel Piazza Navona:

WHSmith –  248 Rue de Rivoli Paris
Shakespeare and Co –  37 Rue de la Bucheri
Galignani – Rue de Rivoli 1st
San Francisco Book Company –  17 Rue le M. Prince 6th
Berkeley Books of Paris 8 Rue Casimir Delavigne 6th

Thank You To All GoodReads Contest Participants

giveawayendsAnother exciting end to a contest I posted through Goodreads, offering copies of my first novel – Piazza Navona, to those in the US entering the contest. Thank you for adding my novel to your to-read list. I hope you find the story entertaining, and heartwarming.

I promise there will be more contests. I’m hoping we can do better for the international market. Maybe GoodReads can offer contests for E-books. Imagine how many more copies we can give away as indie authors.

In the meantime, if you are interested in reading Piazza Navona, or considering giving the 2-part novel as a gift to an avid reader in your circle, visit my Etsy store and order your copy/copies. Both Piazza Navona and Nob Hill are on sale through the end of December 2014, they come signed by me and gift wrapped.
