Self reflection these days has become the norm – during isolation or social distancing. Well, at least for me. More and more questions come up each day, where I ask myself, or a friend over the phone and we share our answers about the simplest of questions. The big one this past week was – how will our travels change after? But I am going to pause answering that for now, and just stick to the lighter topics for the sake of staying positive:
What’s the best comedy movie you’ve seen?
- I have to say Birdcage and Moonstruck come to mind – although when I watch them now, my eye twitches at the dialogue – how not politically correct it all was. But that was a different era, and mind set.
If you were stranded on a deserted island and you could only have one item. What would it be?
- A solar powered laptop – so that I can write to my heart’s content.
What is the best bad decision you ever made?
- In my early twenties, I took a 22 hour ferry ride from Italy to Greece – with nothing to do but sit on benches and stare out into to the sea. Which was fun for the first few hours, but after a while, with no cell phones or social networking, we became stir crazy – arguing and regretting our decision to choose this particular means of transportation. But it was on this ferry, that I realized what I needed to do in life to be happy, in terms of a college degree, and career.
