As a writer, I love walking into a bookstore most everywhere I travel. My only regret is that I only recently started taking photographs of the bookstores I’ve been to. So, you can imagine my interest in this article, listing the 44 great American bookstore discoveries – two of them right here in San Francisco, my hometown.
